About

Thank you so much for visiting me here!

I originally started a blog called Musings in Red, but I soon realized that I had to split my dear blog in two. My plan was to start this inspirational blog and a book review blog, The Hipster Owl’s Bookshelf.

And, voilà “Parasol Dreams” was born.

This name was inspired by two things. First, I live in Seattle where it rains 99.7% of the time. It seems as if I always carry around some sort of umbrella!    Second, I never want to be ” too old” to dream about pretty things.

This blog will be a simple corner where I share all dainty things that inspire me. Things like parasols. Cupcakes. A good cup of coffee. Photography. Films.  Music. Art.

At the same time, this blog will also be a simplistic chronicle of my adventures since moving into this new city. When I first popped into Seattle almost a year ago, I literally had only two suitcases and about $30.  It wasn’t a very well planned decision! I sort of winged it. But even though it’s been harder than I imagined and I’ve lived through a lot of crazy, I believe it was worth it.

Hence Parasol Dreams, my humble attempt to create an artistic interpretation of this, my life. Nothing big, just a little haven of peace and beauty. Welcome.

P.S. If you speak Spanish, my native tongue, I’d love to have you visit my Spanish blog, La Pluma del Quetzal.

  1. So will the book reviews be here or at another blog? I hope you keep them here. I would LOVE a mix of books and inspirational. 🙂

    • Thank you! 🙂 Actually, the book reviews will be held at another blog, since the original reason why I split my old blog into two was because I dearly wanted to host a book review blog by itself. However, I will provide a direct link within THIS blog to the book review blog so as to make navigation easier! 😉

    • Well, hello right back at you, Crowns & Peacocks! 😉 Thank you for your lovely comment and for nominating my blog for the Beautiful Blogger Award! This totally made my day! I’ll be making a post about that soon! Thank you!

  2. I’m so excited I came across your site! Omg! I have never seen such amazing, beautiful pictures! Please tell me you sell them! The peacocks are just fabulous! If not Thank you for sharing!
